My Christmas Wish DevotionalThis week as we begin to share tips and ideas to prepare your family for Christmas, we are reviewing a brand-new children’s devotional called My Christmas Wish: A Devotional Prayer Journal for Kids, by Hearts for Home founder Heather Bowen of UpsideDown Homeschooling.

My Christmas Wish: A Devotional Prayer Journal for Kids (a printable e-book) is a 15-day journaling project where children will learn the true story of Christmas through scripture study, journal writing, crafts, copywork, prayer, reading, researching, baking, service projects and more. It’s designed for ages 4-12, but it can be easily adapted for all ages.

This daily journal is divided into five sections: obedience, love, joy, charity and peace. Each day includes several devotional exercises using the acronym WISH (write, investigate, share, and hear), in which your child will read scripture, pray, write, and complete a fun activity. There are also bonus activities and copywork at the end of the book.

You’ll want to print out a set of pages for each child and have them professionally bound or inserted into a 3-prong plastic folder for durability. That way your children can easily pull it out each day, journal on their own, and keep all the activities in one place.

I really enjoyed the verses chosen for each topic, the prayer prompts, and the suggestions given for putting the verses into practice. The activities are simple and easy to execute for young children, yet they are also effective in demonstrating God’s word in action. The journal pages are beautifully designed with fun graphics and Christmas colors. We’ve decided to start our 15 days on December 1, and my girls are really looking forward to it!

For a limited time, you can download this devotional for just $2.99 — that’s a savings of $5! You will also receive two FREE Holiday Webinars — 9 Stress Busters for the Holidays and The Wonder of God’s Love at Christmas — courtesy of the publisher! (Please note: The NextGen Homeschool one-day reader coupon code has expired, however the download price is still on sale at $2.99!)

Take advantage of this special launch package & price and consider purchasing gift copies for others!
